Teaching Background

I have been fortunate to share the excitement of science in a number of settings. I have particularly enjoyed teaching at the post-secondary level: I have co-taught a graduate ecology course , senior ecology course, and a senior conservation biology course, and have acted as teaching assistant for various biology and ecology labs. This fall (2015), I am co-instructor for current topics in climate change biology, a senior level course.

In addition, I taught middle school science for three years in the early 2000s and was thrilled to work with this age group again when I coordinated an all-day week-long ecology enrichment mini-course for teenagers in 2011. Just as fun was coordinating the Special Saturday program at LSU's Museum of Natural Science for 6-12 year olds for the 2008-2009 school year.
